I have some mini-cards to share

Downloaded a beautiful sheet of flowered panels yesterday from this blog. She has her Etsy shop featured on her side-bar. I can really recommend her work as the downloads are of such high quality! On one of the cards I used a scrap of ribbon, just slid the ends under the oval sentiment and voila!

I have bound them together in some lace. A gift for somebody.
Used a stamp from Sugar Lump Studios of a bird. It was on her Christmas plate of stamps.

Bird-cage

Yesterday a little tag of mine got featured on Carole's blog. This gave me inspiration to use the Hero Arts bird-cage stamp again. From inspiration, comes inspiration!
I think Carole's card is just beautiful, please take a look on her blog!

Here is a little detail of the paper I used to stamp the bird-cage on. The 'A little note' sentiment comes from a Michaels in the USA - I was lucky once to have a rummage around in a $1 basket... wow, that was fun!! Can't do that too often though..lol!

Here is another one I made with some vintage papers I got on-line.

Now I'm on the subject of birds... a little tag I made with a stamped background from the Hero Arts CardArt Thank You flourish stamp.

A couple of Spring cards

Just playing with some scraps and images. I was very inspired by this card, which gave me a new insight how to use the bird image - otherwise I probably would not have downloaded it. So thanks to The Gypsy Magpie!

Used a freebie from The Graphics Fairy for this card. The bird can be found here. The grass stamp and sentiment is Hero Arts. I used some textured cardstock which I don't usually use but I got given some boxes full of old cards from a shop that was closing down and this textured cardstock was in the box. Won't have to go looking for that for many years to come!

For this card I used a digital butterfly from Hero Arts. I was just experimenting with white ink on dark cardstock and the bird happened to be stamped on there. So I just put it all together for a collage-type card.

Digital butterflies

Just sharing a card I made. Oh and I so loved this background template the moment I saw it, I just had to try it out.. It seems to be more spacey.

The damask background panel is from Sue, thanks Sue!

Sunday's child is full of grace

My sister and her friend Pam have returned to their families. We had a lovely time together and spent some time on Friday afternoon with distress inks, techniques etc. As they are both Christians we had some nice sharing together too.

I want to thank Vintage Catnip for the frames she offered for free download on her blog this week. That is where the frame for the image comes from. The little girl has been printed out on photo-paper which really enhances the image quality. I used a script stamp from Artistic Outpost and a swirly stamp I had for the finishing touches.

I had forgotten all about this stamp until Linda had found and used it. It's so nice to use a stamp after a long time and find it's value again.

Have a happy week!

Tag Tuesday - WE DID IT!

I am very happy to say that my sister Linda, her friend Pam and I sat around the table this afternoon for hours crafting together - and we did the cutsie challenge!

(Linda and Pam)

Here are the tags for Louise's challenge... This is from Pam:

This is from Linda:

And of course, I had to choose a cute little vintage picture.

But I'd really like to fix the spotlight on the ladies tags - I think they did a fantastic job and we had such fun together. Pam got all excited!

The challenge on Louise's blog can be found here.

The Mariposa paper stack

I'm struggling with the tag Tuesday theme, so I'm going to let it go for a while. My sister and her friend are arriving tomorrow from the U.K. to pay me a visit until Sunday. Both of them love crafting with paper and stamps, so I'm looking forward to breaking out of my routine and having some company!

I don't know about those of you who have these papers, but I'm having some problems in getting inspired to know what to do with these gorgeous papers! I thought it would be easy, but it's not. Anyway, having had them for a week, finally something is getting done with them.
I used the bird stamp from Artistic Outpost, a leaf stamp from Hero Arts and a crown stamp from.... Sue.

This second card uses paper from the Mariposa stack but I felt it needed some distressing, so it's not it's natural color. The butterfly is a digi Hero Arts stamp and the background stamping is a collage stamp, also from Hero Arts.

I might persuade my visitor's to join in the tag Tuesday challenge tomorrow, we'll see.

Playing with bird images

I am so enjoying bird images nowadays.

This bird is from the Graphics Fairy site; which can be found here. Karen has featured quite a few lately for free downloading. The bird is 3D.

This is a card lift from this card on the Artistic Outpost gallery. When I saw it, I knew I would have to case it.

A birthday card

I got inspired by a picture I saw in an e-mail with pages from the new Stampers' Sampler, for this birthday card. IRL the heart is pink.

The background is a design block from Hero Arts, I seem to be getting good use out of it, that makes me glad! The bird image (which I just LOVE) is from Artistic Outpost.

Theme Thursday - Flowers

Couldn't resist a flower theme and it is actually the theme for this month on the Hero Arts Blog. Used a scrap of K&Co flower paper which I attached to a tag I printed out, a little vintage image, black ribbon and a sentiment.

The challenge for theme Thursday can be found here. Thanks to Kelly who hosts this weekly challenge.

Just a note to say that Jillian Foster whose blog is called 'Inspired by' is featuring some of my cards this week which inspired her to create her own. You can find her gorgeous blog here.

Tag Tuesday #38 - Monogram

It is so good to be back - I have had such busy days and just got round to sitting down to create something this afternoon. Michaƫl was baptized, my DH celebrated his birthday yesterday and in the mean time - lots of visitor's etc.

I am very happy to say that I could get hold of a Mariposa Matstock from DCWV!! I just absolutely love these papers... first got interested in them when Louise showed them on her blog here - love at first sight!

So I used just a little piece of one page here - I just really want to look at the papers and enjoy their texture etc. I don't want to cut into them!!

This is for the weekly tag challenge on Louise's blog, which can be found here.

This tag is for someone special - hence the Monogram 'J'.

The little heart which I attached with the ribbon was a little free gift from an on-line shop where I ordered something, so cute!

A bit of Fun Friday

Making my own little trigger here... yesterday evening my son Joƫl came home for the weekend as his younger brother Michaƫl is going to be baptized on Sunday. God so graciously revealed Himself to Michaƫl in Jesus Christ after he was always looking for proof that God existed and it has changed his life! He wants to witness to that fact on Sunday so it will be a big celebration in our family.

To get to the point.. a lovely friend of mine gave me these cups as a little present, which Joƫl brought with him and as I was making her a thank you card, I realized I was using the same colors as the cups.

So this is my little card - I thought with such beautiful papers I would let it speak for itself and just add a little image. The sentiment is Hero Arts.

O yes, this is my latest pic of my son Michaƫl (who we call Micky):

Have a great weekend!

This is my take on it. I went with the heart shape and the colors.

Spring and butterflies challenge hosted by Anne

I'm joining in Anne's monthly challenge, which can be found by clicking on her name.

This collage background stamp is from Hero Arts (K4890) called CardArt Thank You Flourish.

Actually this card is a joint effort and has a little story.I have wanted this stamp for a long time and finally got it. It was Linda Brandberry (Lin) who got me interested when she used it. So thanks Lin for the inspiration.
The striped panel came from Evelyn Spikes, the distressed die-cut came from Suzanne Czosek and the little hearts came from Tomo in Japan! So thank you all very much ladies!

The idea is to spread happy surprises! And cheerful thoughts of Spring! So I will be sending this card to someone, but that will be a surprise!

Then I made a little tag with the same stamp image.

Have a lovely day!

Tag tuesday - a touch of red

A quick simple little tag as I have loads of ironing to do.

I only iron when necessary, now if I don't my DH will have no more shirts to wear.

I am envisioning this tag on a gift wrapped in lightweight kraft paper or plain red.

The challenge can be found here. Thanks Louise!

Thanks Be(e) for your comment - I didn't make the butterfly myself, other than cut it out - I'm so sorry I can't find the source to give credit... I told you it was a simple tag.

Taking this opportunity to thank everyone who pops by, can't tell you how happy it makes me!
