Tag Tuesday - Glitter

So lovely to be back! I was so very tired, still am.
We had lovely weather in Holland and our conferences went well.

The theme this week caught me by surprise as I only think of glitter at Christmas time and seeing I'm not a 'glitter' girl at all - I used some on the wings of these butterflies which are from the Antique Engravings clear set of Hero Arts. I always love seeing Stampers Suzz use these butterflies, she colors them so beautifully.

The challenge can be found here. Sorry for such a short post, I am still recovering!

Made for two challenges

This card is for two challenges going on at the moment which I wanted to participate in.

The first one is to make a card according to this sketch on the Card Patterns blog.

All Hero Arts stamps. The leaves were stamped with forest moss distress ink and cut out. The peony flower is digi. The prima I still had from Vanessa :), added a little digi-butterfly from the scrap basket. The starburst lace stamp and the Friends definition make the background and the Friends definition stamp as a sentiment.

I am also entering this into a little challenge on the blog of Jenny's called Wee Memories which called for script on a card.

Until next week!

I am happy to say that our son Joël will be flying back to Holland tomorrow. Like so many people who have been stranded he is lucky to get a place on a plane so quickly. Thank you dear Lord!

I will be back sometime next week. I really need a little break and fortunately a lovely Dutch couple will be here to look after Michaël and David.

A little share above and unfortunately I couldn't get it together with the theme this week at Tag Tuesday. I downloaded the background panels for this card here. The Robin bird image is from Artistic Outpost.
Blessings!
Jacqueline

Eggs?? Did I hear eggs......!!

Well, the theme today at Gothic Arches was EGGS - I was not going to play as I have alot of preparation to do, but just could not resist!! As I so wanted to make an inchie arch again, I decided this would be my chance. I punched out squares from spotty and blotched eggs, and tied up the theme with everything associated with bird's eggs.

Thanks to the Graphic Fairy for her gorgeous freebies on this subject these last weeks, I have used quite a few here.

I hope I will be able to do the tag tuesday but if I don't I will still leave a little note before I leave next week.

We spoke to our son today who is in South America with his Bible group - they hope to come home again on Tuesday.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC 29

My card for this week's challenge. I used a CardArt stamp 'Thinking of You' from Hero Arts.

This is the inspiration piece, which can be found on this blog.

It is Ascension day in France today so we have a little holiday until Monday.
The weather is not good today as I wanted to do a spot of gardening.
Have a great day!

Bird related

A couple of cards I have made inbetween time and as I mentioned before, I am all birds and eggs at the moment.

I have been busy planting seeds too - herbs and everything really that one can eat in a salad, like the leaves of pea shoots and edible flowers etc.
I found a lovely wooden tray this morning, very vintage in which one can plant a herb garden. The seeds and labels went with it - that made me very happy.

The sun is shining here and the weather is beautiful.

Our son Joël is in Suriname with his Bible class. He was scheduled to return this weekend but because of the ash-cloud he has to stay there until at least teusday. We are hearing reports that it may even last longer before the air is free for flights to resume. DH and I were flying to Holland this Friday but might have to go by car now!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge - color challenge

This is my card for the PDCC challenge this week followed by the inspiration picture.
I used beige as well, but I hope it will still be considered.

Even if it isn't I just loved stamping with this new Hero Arts stamp called STARBURST LACE. I have made alot of cards with it in white, but love it in black too.
The panel with the roses was a great freebie which I found here, for those interested. (Thanks Lin for reminding me.)

(Challenge photo)

I made some photos of my garden yesterday as we are having lovely Spring weather which brings nature to life.

Tag Tuesday - Inspire Me!

Another theme for the Tag Tuesday challenge has been announced by Louise and can be found here.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm - inspire me - using a quote. Well, of all the quotes I have, which are very few I would have to pick this one as it speaks to me of having faith in that which can't be seen... but is there, only hidden for a moment...

I am entirely into birds and eggs at the moment so I chose my image accordingly. It's a simple little tag using the lace frame stamp and the sentiment, which I cut into strips otherwise it would be too big for a tag.

Just a little picture share here which a girlfriend sent me:

Isn't this little flower doggy just too cute?? I believe it is Asian orientated.

Looking forward to seeing all the tags this week!

Gothic Arch Sunday - Mini arch on a tag

I liked the theme today at Gothic Arches. My inspiration was a bird-cage die-cut that Sue sent to me.. I thought, well it looks like an arch - I will decorate it and put it on a tag. Might be a bit different than a Gothic arch, but it has an arch shape and creativity can lead in different directions!

Thanks Suzz!

I stamped over the birdcage after distressing it, with the new Starburst lace stamp from Hero Arts. The little flowers (also from HA CL184 clear set Thoughtful Messages) were stamped on PP and cut out. The postcard was a free download.

Thanks for the challenge Nancy!

Image from Art Creations Friday challenge

I had to download the freebie over at Art Creations Friday this week and make a little collage card with it. Such a beautiful picture!

Lace Frame stamp

I used the Lace Frame stamp from Hero Arts, this time stamped in Vintage photo distress ink. The digi-butterflies come in handy - I print them out on everything that I think would give a nice effect. This was an abandoned piece of paper with some distress inks on it on which they were printed and then cut out.

Collage

Once I start with collage cards they get contagious and I just have to try another one.

These are a couple of cards I made after the tag as I so love the bird image. The lacy frame behind the bird is a stamp from Hero Arts, recently released.

I just used scraps and other papers.

Tag tuesday - Sketch

This weeks tag is to be made from the sketch provided by Louise. It was lovely to do a little collaged tag again.

Tag tuesday

You can see the sketch here on Louise's blog and everybody is welcome to join in! The more the merrier!

The little bird image I found here - loved it instantly! I used my Hero Arts Starburst lace stamp to decorate the tag with the half circle (embossed in green) as that is the only circle stamp I have, and in this I was inspired by Sue, who uses this stamp extremely well!

Just sharing

I read something this morning that really blessed me and I wanted to share during the Easter period.

A gem dealer was strolling through the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show when he noticed a blue-violet stone the size of a potato. Surprised, he said to the seller, 'You want fifteen dollars for this?' The seller, thinking the rock wasn't as pretty as others in the bin, sold it to him for ten dollars. That ugly stone was later certified as a 1,905-carat natural star sapphire, appraised at 2.8 million dollars. It took a lover of stones to recognize its worth. And it took the lover of souls to recognize your worth. Do you realize how much God loves you? If not, look at the cross. Perhaps you're disappointed because you've asked God for something and He didn't do what you thought He should have done. Before you feel unloved, take a moment and look back. Hasn't He blessed you and held you steady through rough places? It's been a long ride, but He's still holding you, right? Don't act as if your heavenly Father doesn't love you because He doesn't always cater to you.

Our society has spent so much time criticizing differences that it fails to see God in diversity. Because you're different, doesn't mean you're 'less than' - just different! If God hadn't made you as He did, you wouldn't have been able to persevere as you have. You're uniquely equipped to be a blessing to those around you. Remember, people are blessed because you're sincere and available - not perfect. So next time you feel worthless, stop and remind yourself, 'God loves and values me!'

I hope it will bless you as it blessed me. That we are not in a performance treadmill but in a loving relationship with our Heavenly Father!

-----------------------------------------

Just a little share today, a Mother's Day card for my MIL. I don't have my mum around anymore, but I'm very happy to have a wonderful Mother-in-Law who is so kind. I don't have any Happy Mother Day stamps but I think 'Thank you' speaks louder!

For my MIL

I used a sheet from the Mariposa papers for the background panel. Love them. The rose and bird is a new set from Hero Arts. A friend I met on the Internet, called Dee Collins sent me a little Hero Arts stamp set of four definition stamps. I used one of them on the above card, the 'happy' stamp. Thank you Dee so very much!!

Have a blessed Easter!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge # 23 and Sketch57 at Card Patterns

This is the beautiful inspiration picture over at the Play Date Cafe. I really love these colors and lately I'm loving blue more and more.

As I just got some new stamps which I have been waiting for the right time to buy now for a long time, I had of course to see if I could incorporate them in this color scheme.

Inside the Lace Frame (Hero Arts K5329) is the Cling stamp from Hero Arts of a Rose (CG152)and the Starburst Lace (S5317) adds decoration to the corners.

And then I saw that this card would be suitable for the Sketch over on the CardPatterns blog, so I joined in the fun over there too.
