A blessing!

I have to share this little testimony. A sweet friend of mine brought me little signs of Spring in the form of the Mimosa flower this week. It blooms just one day and the scent it brings into the home is overwhelming! And everytime I forgot to take a photo! I had this thought in my heart that I wanted to share it with you on this blog, but my chance was gone. Yesterday morning as I was in the office, the phone rang.
It was my neighbour and she wanted to give me a huge bunch of Mimosa from her tree!! Now she never does this, so I was not only overwhelmed with her kindness but I knew in my heart that God wanted to bless me! Just simple, the conviction was there.
So I am sharing this bunch of God's creative goodness with you today. The first signs of Spring in this gorgeous yellow color!

Another little thing I wanted to share are these Cameo bowls I bumped into in the Sales. A little more than one dollar each. Luckily I was able to buy six of them. I was just looking for some unusual bowls!

And lastly here is my nature card:

Talking about yellow, the daffodils have shown themselves again and all the trees and shrubs etc. are showing signs of new life. I love that, its so uplifting.

I hope you have an uplifting weekend!

Another Postcard Tag

I had to make some more 'Carte Postale' tags as I so love this theme. I will post one of them. It's not very often I find a vintage image that really speaks to me, but when I do I love using them on tags.

This one is using the Hydrangea stamp from Hero Arts (my favorite) as a background, stamped on a cut-out postcard tag. The image of the little girl is another favorite. I have framed this one A4 size and it is hanging in my kitchen.

The template for the postcard is from the Graphic's Fairy if anybody wants to find some. I have a template tag that I cut around to get the shape.

Here are the others.

Tag Tuesday - Postcards

I actually have a Postcard Tag Stamp, which I found on Ebay ages ago, that I have never used on a card. So now was the time! It is a Life's Journey Stamp from Inkadinkado.

I happened to find some scrap papers to stamp the postcard tag on.

This second one is more of a collage type tag - very enjoyable to make.

Today is Wednesday and I'm going to add another little tag I made this afternoon.

Editing to add: Barbara I hope you look here because I have no means of contacting you. And thank you for praying for David. He is alot better, thank God!
This is the Postcard stamp it is from INKADINKADO K&Co Life's Journey 94409.N.
I have a link here. Ebay might be cheaper.

The challenge can be found here, why don't you join in?

Sunday - Revisiting...

Sunday is quite often a day to go 'visiting', seeing friends or family.

So I thought I would revisit some of my old cards from the Flickr Hero Arts gallery and re-make them. Actually I really enjoyed the process today and hope to be doing this when I can on the Sunday for a feature on my blog. All stamps are Hero Arts.
If anyone is interested, please join me and post a link!

This is the card I visited today: I made it in June 2009. I used the same design, same stamps except for the sentiment. The only thing I changed are the patterned papers.

My other Sunday special is going to be to revisit a card I have received during my years of having a blog and sharing with other card makers.

Today I want to feature a beautiful card from Tiffany Ervin. I am showing this one today because it features the Heart-winged butterfly from Hero Arts, which I also have done today.

This card came in a box all the way from America. It also features the heart swirl flourish. Tiffany has a gorgeous blog, which can be found here.

Thank you for all your enquiries about David. Although his lungs are still quite full, he is smiling again and eating. The medicine he received is of course helping him mend. No school for him tomorrow though..

Have a lovely sunday!

Shells, frames and vintage

I have a couple of vintage shares together, both of them using frames.

I rediscovered a Penny Black stamp I had and just used the frame for the image. First I decorated it with shells (from a Hero Arts stamp) which I still had, cut out and waiting for use still from my holiday in Spain. I used to get up early every morning and wait until late before DH and the boys got up - so after my prayer time I started stamping butterflies and shells and cutting them out for later use. Now it is 7 months later and I am still using the shells.

These background papers are from the Graphic's Fairy. I colored in the little flowers with watercolor pencils.
Still nursing a sick David, he is very poorly this time round.

Tuesday Trigger - Comfy Cozy

When I saw the inspiration picture, I had to think of a grid card again with all the cushions. The link to this challenge can be found here on the Moxie Fab Blog.

This is the picture and underneath is my inspiration tag

I chose a frame from The Graphic's Fairy as the cushions were on a bed, that gave me the idea. Thank you Stella, I used some of the papers you sent me on this one. The Hello Tag Stamp is from Hero Arts. Its all rainy and dark here so I had to scan it - tomorrow I will get a photo.

Tag Tuesday - Friends

Not a very easy theme, I thought, so I chose our 'feathered' friends for my tag.
Its a very simple little thing because I have lost my inspiration. I've been tidying up a bit hoping that something will spark it up again, but it's not happening!

The challenge for this week can be found here on Louise's blog.

The nest and sentiment are stamps from Artistic Outpost and the Friends definition is Hero Arts.
Thank you Brenda for the crochet flower and brad!
Thank you Carole for the tag!

Two winners!

Random Org gave me two numbers - they are nr. 5 - which is WILMI who will receive the stamp set and a tag and nr. 9 - which is Deanna Cosgrove.
Congratulations ladies.
Wilmi I have your address but I need yours Deanna so that I can send you a tag with some pretty patterned papers.
See you later ladies!

Two giveaways

Good afternoon ladies. I hope your sunday is a lovely day of rest. Today I had to stay home because David is sick again.
I have another set of stamps that are lying idle in a box. They are from Hero Arts and called LL857 Abstract Impressions Fancy Notes.  I have seen that if I don't use a stamp at least once a month, I am never going to use it and what is the point of keeping something that is not used while somebody else could get some use out of it. It might not be a very popular stamp-set but we all get inspired in different ways. The name chosen will get the stamps and one of these tags. I will have a runner-up to receive a tag too.
These are three stamps, wood-mounted, Set size 90 x 80mm (not that big). I think, if they were bigger I could have used them.

These are quite small tags (3,5x3,5inch) using tiny scraps that would have otherwise gone unnoticed into the bin...

This one in blue.

And this one in pink.

The box of stamps and the tag are the same size.

The inspiration to use a frame like this as a basis for inchies is from Nancy Krueger, see her card here.
The free download of the frame was found here on The Graphic's Fairy.

I hope you will join in! Just leave me a comment so that I know you are interested! You have until tuesday 15/02.

A photo and card share

I have a little card share using some vintage paper that a sweet friend gave me while I was in Holland. It was so nice to be amongst family and friends again! The Hydrangea is Hero Arts and the little butterfly is from Eline Pellinkhof.

What I like about Holland is that it is about 10 years ahead of France in creativity! I mean, look at this Birthday cake that René's brother and sister-in-law surprised him with. So unique and creative. The photo is René when he was about seven years old. It is made of marsipan. The bakers are able to transfer photos onto cakes nowadays - how they do it, I don't know. He's better-looking today though :)

And a photo of Rodney with his dad (left) and an elder of the church, who baptized René as well when he was a young man of around twenty years of age. This was one of happiest moments in our lives.

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Tag Tuesday - a Tag on a Tag

Hello! Nice to be back home but I thoroughly enjoyed myself in Holland with my boys! Our son Rodney had a wonderful baptism service, together with five other young people. We were moved to tears when he read his testimony of how God had changed his darkness into light from the inside out! He was deep into sin and desolation but God saved him. It was also my DH's 50th birthday yesterday, so I have been lovely and busy.

I found some lovely cheap cardstock in Holland in the sales, just the colors I was looking for. I also had gems in my hands but didn't buy them. Now I am home, I think I must have had a blackout, not to have grabbed the chance while I had it!! So once again, no gems on my tag.

The image on the tag is from Crafty Individuals, haven't used this one in a while.

The label on the bottom of the tag is from The Graphics Fairy. The tag challenge can be found here, on Louise's blog.

Just wanted to add this picture which is actually quite contrary because who would of thought one would see sheep in a vineyard??? I NEVER see sheep other than in a magazine! Well it happened this afternoon.... at the same time you can see that we have beautiful weather.

Hope you are all well!!

Tag Tuesday - Circles

I want to thank everybody for the heart-warming comments I received on my last post about David. I felt so blessed! Thank you!

For this week's Tag Tuesday challenge I was thinking of a round tag but I should of thought of a normal shape tag and round shapes. After popping over to Sue's blog, I get the necessary inspiration and finally got something together! Thanks Sue - I'm also using the lovely brown twine you sent.

This was my first effort - a bit simple but the butterfly is under an acetate circle, which Sue also sent me and I have given it dimension with some tape.

This will be my last post until next week as I am going to Holland on Friday with DH and Joël to see our two other sons who are at Bible School and to attend the baptism of our eldest son Rodney. His father will baptize him, as he has all of his sons.

Will see you all very soon! Take care.
