Card Design Handbook Week - The Movement, Repitition and Asymmetry Challenge

To quote Cath on the Moxie Fab World blog, this challenge is all about the importance of movement in design. Movement is the way lines, shapes, forms, and textures cause your eye to move over and around the design.

If your eyes move like mine, I am drawn to the sentiment first, then upwards to the dark blue square, then to the left and work my way down to the bottom squares, anticlockwise.

I have used the new Penny Black Petal Party stamps for this grid.
The challenge can be found here.

Then I decided to use this card for the Repetition Challenge, which can be found here.

Here I have used punched out butterflies in coordinating colors.

And lastly, for the Asymmetry Challenge which can be found here.

Using the Petal Party stamps from Penny Black.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

A visit and a framed butterfly present

It was so nice to get a visit from a blog and Flickr (Hero Arts Gallery) friend today, her name is Betty Keefe and she is from the United States, visiting her son and his family in England and on holiday on the coast around an hours drive from where I live. We had a lovely time together and had to seek refuge in the garden under a tree because of the hot, muggy weather. It seems that temps are tropical everywhere at the moment.

You see that hammock in the background, I love to lie in there in the cool evenings watching the airplanes go by and just relaxing from the hot days after dinner.

Now I'm sharing a picture I made for my son and his fiancĂ© as they are busy decorating their apartment. I  thought I would choose light colors to match the colors of their home.

I hope it inspires you to give this a go too - it is such nice work to do.

This is another framed inchie project which has a Terra Cotta frame. Half of the size of the ones I usually do, so quicker and just as enjoyable, using patterned papers and some stamping.

I hope you are enjoying your summer and I must say to all those who have air-conditioning - enjoy it because it's hard without it!!

Vintage and a publication

A vintage card, using up some papers and an image I had. Thanks to Judy for the music paper she sent. The frame is a Penny Black Stamp.

This is another butterfly project that I framed and hope to sell to raise funds for our new Church building. We would so like to see the youth being reached and we need all the funds we can get. France is in a bad state spiritually! Please pray for this Country if you are here on holiday!

Finally, I got published in the Catch Up Issue of Stampers Sampler, only today got my copy.

This is the card:

That was it for today. We are still enjoying the most beautiful weather here. I cannot remember ever enjoying being outdoors as much, eating together with family and friends under a huge tree in our garden and just enjoying company of our Dutch friends who are visiting the region.
I am so thankful.

ps - I still have lots of wine labels remaining, so I have put them in my Etsy Shop, just asking for a postale fee to send them. They are going in lots of 15.

Pinterest and new Watercolor Dahlia stamp from Hero Arts

Do you like Pinterest? I love it, and why, because of the lovely card inspiration there is to be found there. This is my inspiration and here is my card.

I don't know about you but sometimes I would like to share so much, I just don't get round to it, it's too overwhelming.

Another two cards with my new Watercolor Dahlia from Hero Arts.

We are having gorgeous weather, enjoying every minute of it and everything thats happening in my life at the moment. I was at the local flower store and found this lovely hanger, 30 percent off - it was going for so cheap I bought it for next to the front door. Bienvenue in French means Welcome. I put some hanging petunias in today.
